BANBURY CANAL DAY

A big thank you to Carolyn, Wilf, Ian, Darren, Dawn and David for manning our "Pirate" stall at the Banbury Canal Day on Sunday 7th October 2007.  They were there from just after 8.00 am until 5.00 pm - setting up and taking down everything.

Plenty of leaflets were given out to people of all ages so hopefully some recruitment will come from that.  Most of the tombola prizes were won.  A big thank you to Wilf for donating 3 x £10 M&S vouchers for the tombola.

The weather stayed quite warm and a good time was had by all (apart from the smelly drain!!!)  We have raised approximately £250 for the Club funds.

SENIOR SESSIONS TO RE-START

The Senior Session will re-start on SATURDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2007.  The session will be from 4:30 - 6:00 at BRACKLEY SPORTS CENTRE.  There are changing room facilities available and you can leave your kit in them.

FLOODING IN BANBURY

Due to the recent flooding in Banbury, especially the Spiceball Sports Centre, the last training day before the summer shut down has had to be cancelled - Saturday 20th July 2007.

Darren and Carolyn went to the Sports Centre on the Friday afternoon to move what hockey kit they could from the sports hall area to the second floor before the flood waters came through.

We have been in touch with the Sports Centre and it will be quite a few months before they are fully operational again - the sports hall being the last on the priority list (at the moment).  We therefore are unable to train on a Saturday afternoon at the Sports Centre for the foreseeable future.

Brackley Sports Centre have been very helpful in allowing us to move to their facilities on a Saturday to enable us to continue as a Club and also with our training.  We will keep you updated with times, dates and current news about the sports centre.
